So by his mid-thirties, while writing a handful of country-leaning songs, he felt a tug to go to Nashville. He had a few friends up there but more importantly, he had something to say… and he wanted to learn how to say it. Part of him wanted to quit, but a bigger part just wanted to get to work and learn the craft.
So, with the support and urging of his wife, he started making trips, in between his weekend band gigs, once or twice a month. He had a publishing deal by and was immersed in the community and the life. The lyric-driven, story-driven, real-life-driven art of songwriting. But along the way, he also poured out HIS life and childhood and faith and struggles into some of them. Songs so personal and from his own unique window-to-the-world perspective, that maybe the person who needed to record them… was the guy writing them.
Secondly, my heart and soul was in the off-the-beaten path songs that had some REAL meat on the bone. It was all about the writing. The arrest warrants for vandalism and public intoxication were issued Sunday morning, after White refused to sign misdemeanor citations. Sunday after a drunken man identified as the year-old White pulled a fire alarm, forcing the hotel to evacuate all guests. An employee also reported seeing White destroy a hotel phone. White tried to leave the hotel in a cab before being stopped by a hotel guest who told the driver police had been called.
According to police, White kicked at the man before running away. The man chased him and they collided when White turned around. White, who is also one of the world's top skateboarders, fell back and hit his head against a fence, police said.
White, who appeared to be drunk, was given the opportunity to sign misdemeanor citations and refused, police said. A spokeswoman for Baptist Hospital said White was treated there and released on Monday before being arrested and booked by police. A mug shot released by police shows White with a black eye. White was released by police late Monday afternoon on his own recognizance.
